Magic Scope is a utility written in Magic for the purpose of debugging Magic programs.
The Magic Scope debugger will save tremendous amounts time and money identifying
problematic areas of your Magic program. It is easily called from either online or batch
programs. Because it is written in Magic, it is also a valuable training tool showing the
inner workings of Magic, especially the VARxxx functions.
Program information provided by Magic Scope is displayed in two windows. The generation
window displays task information for all tasks in memory including the name, level, type,
mode, modification status, current field, and counter. The variables window displays field
information for all variables in memory including the ID, origin, description, type,
current and previous value. Magic Scope is available for either Magic version
8 or 9.
Magic Scope was written by John Cole and is available through Trillium
